For steel surfaces, lightly abrade the surface and remove any rust or mill scale. For galvanized steel, clean away grease and dirt and lightly abrade the surface. For aluminum, abrade to fresh metal and clean well using detergent. For concrete and other porous surfaces, allow new concrete to cure for at least 28 days before application.
